We are seeking nominations for the upcoming MER Board positions. Please considering making a nomination and becoming more involved and connected with your MER peers! Please send a biography with a picture to Becky Smith (rebsmith@hmh.net) by June 1 if you are interested in one of the below positions. Elections will take place at the end of July and first of August. New members will take office at the Regional Meeting in West Virginia on September 13, 2018!
Requirements for Office:
The candidate must be an active, eligible member of the WOCN® and must be an active member of the Mideast Region for at least 1 year prior to the acceptance of nomination.
Secretary – Must be an active member in the MER for at least 2 years prior to acceptance of nomination. Primary duties include attending and taking minutes at all Board meetings and membership meetings then forwarding copies to all members.
President Elect – Must be a prior board member. Duties include performing in the absence or incapacity of the President, attending all meetings, acting as public relations point person for MER and overseeing functions of all directors.
Director 2 – Responsible for the activities of the following committees:
- MER Awards
- Scholarships
- Research
Director 4 – Responsible for activities of the following committees:
- Government Affairs
- Nominations/Elections
- Assume the duties of the Parliamentarian
