Dear Mideast Region Members,
Hope all is well. Happy Spring!! The MER Board will be meeting April 9th in Dayton, Ohio to work on issues that were discussed at the membership meeting in October.
We thank the Indiana Conference Planning Committee for their hard work and the wonderful conference this year. The Kentucky Planning Committee is diligently working on the 2016 fall conference. The conference will be held in Louisville, Kentucky on September 29, 30, and October 1, 2016.
Congratulations to Marilyn E. Whitehead our Mideast Region WOC Nurse of the Year!! Marilyn was presented with a beautiful plaque at the MER Conference in October. We awarded (3) $1000.00 WOCNEP Scholarships. The recipients are: Cindy Schleis, Alexi Pflager and Paula Nowling. The awards will be dispersed after successful completion and passing of the certification exam. Congratulations to these deserving individuals.
Please be sure to check the MER website for scholarship and award applications. Nominate yourself or a colleague! If you have a poster accepted at the national WOCN® conference, you may be eligible to apply for the MER Poster Award. This is a monetary award to help with the costs of the poster. The application is on the website.
The Mideast Region board is honored to serve our membership! MER elections take place in the fall. Please consider running for office. We have a wonderful and supportive group of volunteers. Offices up for reelection include: President Elect, Treasurer, Trustee 2 and Trustee 4. Please contact any of us with questions.
