You know your job is important. Your patients rely on you to be the best you can be and their family notices and welcomes you to help heal their wounds. Physicians rely on you, and bedside nurses cannot wait till you arrive—you are the great and impressive answer to their wound, ostomy, or continence needs! You are part of the team, and the patient would not improve without your expertise.

But you are tired, you have so many demands competing for your time, working long hours, and neglecting your own family to help others. Covid continues to impact all that you do. How about getting away? Isn’t it time to learn new and positive things for your growth?

Do you know that having a healing mindset helps promote wholeness for you as well as those you care for and work with? What exactly does a healing mindset mean? Friends say it is having the courage to negotiate conflicts, all while encouraging a peaceful healing environment that builds relationships. Spending time with others, watching how others manage critical issues with grace and love, or getting away from the job for time to focus helps. Learning something new or learning more about a challenge while realizing you are not alone can be so refreshing.

The Mideast Region (MER) fall conference is one way to bring people together in a positive way! As the MER leadership team focuses on our strategic goals via servant leadership, we encourage the ongoing healing environment of our colleagues for the greater good of our community. As community builders, we encourage you to come together with us at our fall conferences and at the future WOCNext conferences of the Society. This opportunity to get away from work for a long weekend, get to know other MER members, network, and focus on our shared purpose helps to Share our Passion to Elevate Your Profession! (conference.mideastregion.org) This is the perfect time to find value and focus as you get away from your normal routines and invest in your own growth.

I hope to see you in Lexington, KY at our fall conference!

Warm regards,
Deb Crawford
President Mideast Region of the WOCN® Society
