Dear MER Members,

I hope you are all enjoying the Holidays with those you love.  The MER has a gift for you: Our new and improved website is up and running in our previous location  www.mideastregion.org  Please check it out.  The website is a one stop shop for all of your MER needs.  You can check the latest news, see photos from past events, find out future conference dates, register for conference once open, and apply for scholarships and awards.  You can also see the names of scholarship and award winners.  Stay tuned as we add new content.

We had a spectacular regional conference in Louisville with great presentations, vendors and networking. Many thanks to the Louisville conference planning committee for executing a first class meeting with warm hospitality. This will be a hard act to follow, but the Michigan team is busy planning an exciting conference for October 5 -7 2017 in Detroit!

Welcome to the Triple Crown of Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing: Racing Toward the Evidence

New officers were inducted in Louisville: Rebecca Smith as Director #4, Judy Moser as Secretary, Linda Stricker as President-Elect, and myself (Monica Koch) as President. Linda’s election left the Treasurer’s position vacant so the board has appointed Tim Larsen to complete the term.

Thank you to our outgoing officers: Lisa Kirk, President; Mike Criswell, Secretary; and Michele Beck as Director #4. We appreciate your hard work and dedication to the MER.

Mark your calendars now for the WOCN® Annual Conference to be held May 19-23 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Please note that this year’s conference begins on a Saturday and ends on Tuesday (previously it ran Sunday to Wednesday.) Another change is that our membership meeting will be held on Saturday morning.

I look forward to serving as your president and hope to see you in Salt Lake City!

    I am looking for the cost of the Mid East Region Annual conference. I have to submit a budget for continuing education and would like to include this conference. I know the dates and where it is to be held, but I am unable to locate a cost. Any information will be very much appreciated!

      I apologize for the delay – I am getting used to this new website! Registration is now open for the MER conference October 5-7 in Dearborn, Michigan. Early bird registration is $160 and increases to $200 after June 16. Rooms are $159/night. All details are available on the website. Hope to see you in the fall!
